DAY 02: DELHI/NAINITAL: (DISTANCE:

Morning
drive to Nainital. Upon arrival checkin at
hotel. Nanital has a unique place of the
many hill towns of Uttranchal. Blessed with
natural splendour and varied natural
resources, Nanital, 'The Paradise City' is a
glittering jewel in the Himalyan necklace.
Popular for its large number of lakes,
Nanital is known as the 'Lake District' of
India. The most prominent of the lakes is
Naini lake ringed by hills. Nanital’s
unending scenic beauty is nothing short of a
romance with awe-inspiring and pristine
Mother nature. Nanital is as one of 64
‘Shakti Peeths’ according to Hindu
Mythology.
Afternoon city tour of Nainital will
start with: Naini Lake - One of the
main attractions of Nainital is the Naini
Lake also called Tririshi Lake. The lake is
shaped like an eye and is surrounded by
hills on all side. It is said to be one of
the emerald green eyes of Siva's wife which
fell at this site and hence the name
NainiTal. The Lake offers its
tourists an
opportunity of yachting, boating or
paddling the boat. Rowing as well as
paddling boats are available at both ends of
lake. The north end and southern end of lake
is called Mallital and Tallital respectably.
This also has a bridge, Danth.
Naini Peak (2610 mtrs) - Naina Peak,
also called, as China Peak is the tallest of
all in Nainital, at a height of 2611 metres
commanding the finest views of the Himalayas
and an intriguing bird’s-eye. On a clear
day, a wide range of the snow-clad Himalayas
is visible. Bhowali - Bhowali is 11
kms away from Nainital on the
Haldwani-Almora Road. It is quite famous as
a market known for its variety of fruits. It
also houses the famous Sainik School of
India. This place is said to be good for
those patients who ail from problems of the
lungs. There is also a Sanatorium here.
Hanumanghar - About 3 kms from Nainital
is the famous temple of Lord Hanumanji. It
is a religious centre and is well known for
its sunset view. This temple was constructed
by Baba Neem Karauli and has a 12 feet
statue of Lord Hanuman. Snow View:
Snow View is the most easily accessible hill
top at a height of 2270 mts. from the sea
level and at a distance of 2.5 Km from the
town. This scenic spot is accessible through
ropeway. This peak is also connected by
motorable road. Snow view offers an
incrredible and breath taking picture of the
glittering and shivery snows of Himalyas. The
Flatts: Situated at the northern side
of the lake the Flatt is a place of meeting
for people from all walks of life. Here
evenings are heavily crowded at Flatt. The
playing ground of Flatt is used for sports
games and cultural activities during
festivals. There is Chat Bazar, Bhotia
Market in the Flatt. There is Mosque,
Gurudwara and Naina Devi temple in Flatts.

DAY 03: IN NANITAL:
Morning drive to Same day excursion to
Bhimtal, The myth goes that the lake
was built during the Mahabharata era. You
can get taxis and buses at regular interval
from Nainital. On the Nainital-Bhimtal road
is Mahra Village. Here through the efforts
of Dr. Yashodhra Mathpal a rich collection
of the cultural and archeological items have
been made. These artifacts from the
Uttrakhand region gives you an insight into
the cultural heritage of this area. At
Bhimtal you can enjoy boating and have food
at the restaurant on the island in middle of
the lake. Bhimtal is 23 kms from Nainital
and there are good accommodation facilities
at the place. Naukuchiatal Lake: Just
four kms from Bhimtal is lake with nine
corners hence it is known as the Naukutchia
lake. This is an ideal place to spend your
holidays and relax. The lake is full of
lotus and is surrounded by forest with a
backdrop of the mountains, all this creates
an ideal condition to enjoy boating in here
or sit on the banks and feel the breeze
coming from the lake. There are regular bus

Kausani will start with: Pant Museum
- Not far from Kasauni bus stand is a very
beautiful museum dedicated to national poet
Sumitra Nandan Pant. Sumitra Nandan Pant was
born in Kasauni. This building in which the
museum is located was the place where he
spend his childhood. His ancestral house has
been converted into the museum. The museum
is managed by the state archeological
department. It has a good collection of the
items which was used by Pantji in day to day
life. These include letters, poems and
manuscripts etc. Lakshmi Ashram -
Just one kilometer from Anashakti Ashram is
located a leading social service
organisation. This organisation runs many
developmental and welfare programmes for
women. Sarla Ben, one of the disciples of
Gandhiji, stayed here all along her life.
From the Ashram are run many awakening and
welfare programmes for women. Modern
education and developmental activities are
main features of this place. The whole
Ashram itself is worth having a look. range.
Eulogized by poets and philosophers, this
scenic spot offers sightseeing, history and
complete relaxation. Gandhiji stayed here at
the Anashakti Ashram in 1929 and was
inspired by the superb Himalayan panorama
and the hindi poet laureate Sumitra Nandan

DAY 05: IN KASAUNI :
Morning drive to Same day excursion to
Pinakeshwar: This place is 20 kms
from Kasauni. Set at an altitude of 9,500
ft., Pinakeshwar is a very beautiful place
in the mountains. There is a Shiva temple
and beyond the temple are spread deep
beautiful valleys. This place is also good
for trekking. The area near Pinakeshwar are
also worth giving a look. After visiting
Pinakeshwar drive to Baijnath Temple
Complex : This temple complex is located
17 kms from Kasauni. Baijnath Temple complex
has many historic ruins. The temples of
Baijnath group are decorated with some
intricate and delicate carvings. After
visiting Baijnath drive to Bageshwar
: Situated some 39 kms from Kasauni,
Bageshwar is one of the important places in
Kumaon hills. This place is located at a
place where river Saryu and Gomti meet. This
whole place is dotted with temples. There
are two ponds, Suryakund and Agnikund, which
are very famous. Every year in January a
fair, Uttaryani, is organised here.

DAY 06: KASAUNI/ALMORA: (DISTANCE: 70Kms.TIME

Afternoon city tour of Almora will start
with: Chitai Temple: Eight kms from
Almora is the Chitai Temple, dedicated to
Golu Devta. An incarnation of Gaur Bhairav,
he is reputed to make every wish come true,
provided the worshipper ask for it with a
clear conscience. All he asks for in
propitiation is a bell, as was evident from
the thousands of bells strung across the
temple premises. Anyone can even seek Gol
Devta's divine intervention by writing to
him. A stack of letter ws pinned up next to
his image, astride a horse. Kosi Temple
(10 kms): The temple was built in the 12th
century by the Katyuri dynasty. one of the
earliest Sun temples in India. After drive
to same day excursion to Jageshwar:
The pilgrim site located in a verdant valley
is 38 kms from Almora and is believed to be
one of the twelve Jyotirlinga's in the
country. The Swayambhu Linga named Nagesh is
enshrined here. The temple complex has 124
shrines and hundreds of statues noted for
exquisite craftsmanship. In Jageshwar, fairs
are held during Shivaratri and in the month
of 'Shravan' (July - August). The place is
frequented by both religious as well as
