DAY 02 : IN DELHI: After breakfast city tour of old Delhi and New delhi .Humayun's Tomb -Built by the wife of Humayun, Hajji Begum in the mid 16th century, this red sand stone structure is considered to be the predecessor of Taj Mahal. The structure is one of the best example of Mughal Architecture. Humayun's wife is also buried in the red and white Jantar Mantar - Few minutes walk from Connaught Place is is a strange collection of solomon coloured structures. These were built by Maharaja Jai Singh and is actually an observatory. Though not as large as its compatriot in Jaipur Jantar Mantar at Delhi also an attraction for the tourists. The astonishing part of these observatories is that they can calculate many astronomical movements very accurately. Red Fort - Built in Red Sand stone this imposing fort is 3 kms in perimeter with the height of the wall varying from 18 to 30 meters at places. When the Red fort was being built Yamuna used to flow on its one sides and there were deep moats on the other. Today Yamuna flows almost a kilometer away from the fort and the moats have dried up. In the evening the Delhi Tourism organises a light and sound show which narrates the history of Delhi in context of the Red Fort. The Lahore gate, the main entrance, has some emotions and sentiments attached with the Indian independence as the Tricolor flutters on the top of this gate. On 15th August the Indian Prime minister addresses the nation from here. As soon one enters in the fort from the Lahore gate .The Dewan-i-Am or the place of public hearing had a wall paneled with marble in laid with precious stone which were removed during the mutiny of 1857. The Dewan-i-Khas or the place for special hearing was the area where the emperor used to hold meetings with his ministers. Rashtrapati Bhawan: The president's mansion is situated on Raisina Hill in the center of Delhi, overlooking the green lawns around India Gate. This elegant building, is truly worth seeing, for its architectural beauty and historic significance. The beautiful Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhawan, which are open to the public in spring, are an added attraction. Parliament House: Located in Central Delhi, this elegant building with its wide pillared walkways and large halls, is worth a visit, to see the corridors of power where India's lawmakers and statesmen decide the future of India. Raj Ghat : The memories of Mahatma Gandhi.India Gate: Situated on Rajpath, in the center of Delhi, this 42-meter high arch, was designed by Edwin Lutyens, in memory of the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the first World War. Their names can be seen inscribed on the arch. The Amar Jawan Jyoti, an eternal flame, burns in memory of the unknown soldier, beneath the shelter of the arch, which is surrounded by green lawns, fountains and water bodies - an evergreen picnic zone in the heart of central Delhi.. Birla Mandir Laxmi Narayan Temple: It was built by the industrialist Raja Baldev Birla in 1938. The temple is an important prayer centre and contains idols of several deities. Interestingly, Mahatma Gandhi, who inaugurated the temple, was also a regular visitor to it. Bahai Temple: This aesthetically designed monument, commonly known as the Lotus Temple, because the white marble structure is built to in the shape of a lotus, set amidst, lakes and green lawns. It is a serene house of meditation, within which there are no idols and total silence prevails, so all can meditate in complete peace. Overnight at hotel –

DAY 04: IN DARJEELING: Darjeeling is surrounded by lofty mountains. Except for the monsoon months and if weather is clear then the Kanchenjunga peak can be seen. Down below in the valley flow the rivers swollen by rain water or melting snow. Darjeeling is a fascinating place rich in natural beauty and surrounded by the Buddhist monasteries. Its beauty surpasses any other hill station. Tiger Hill - Tiger hills is the highest point in the area which provides the most exotic view of the Kanchenjunga peaks. From this place the other peaks of the Eastern Himalayas can be seen. On a clear day the sight of Mt.Everest is just enthralling. Dhoom Gompa - About 8 kms from Darjeeling is the Dhoom Gompa. Here a very beautiful statue of the Maitrayie Buddha ( prospective Buddha) is established. The Monastery has also preserved some of the rare handwritten Buddhist manuscripts. Overnight at hotel –

full day city tour of Kalimpong.There
are a number of places of tourist
interest in Kalimpong. Kalimpong has
three important gompas or monasteries:
the Tharpa Choeling Gompa, the Tongsa
Gompa and Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gompa.
The Tharpa Choeling Gompa was
established in 1922 and belongs to the
Yellow Hat (Gelukpa) sect of Tibetan
Buddhism. His Highness the Dalai Lama
also belongs to this sect, which was
founded in the 14th century in Tibet.
The Tongsa Gompa is located near the
Tharpa Choeling Gompa. It is the oldest
monastery in Kalimpong and was founded
in 1692. The present building is
constructed over the ruins of the
original monastery, which was raised by
the Gurkhas, in the pre-British era. The
Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gompa was built
in the mid-1970s on Durpin Hill and is
located 5 km south from the town center.
It was consecrated by His Highness the
Dalai Lama. This monastery is famous for
its traditional Tibetan wall
paintings.Kalimpong is an important
flower producing center and it produces
80% of the total gladioli produced in
India. There are numerous nurseries in
Kalimpong, which excel in production of
orchids. Travelers can visit some
important nurseries across the town and
look at their collection of flowers,

DAY 08: KALIMPONG/ GANGTOK (DRIVE: 67KMS/02HRS) : In morning drive to Gangtok . on arrival check-in at hotel .The list of attractions in Gangtok is endless. The small town itself is a beautiful place to move around. It houses sites like the most important 'stupa' of Sikkim, the Do Drul Chorten, the solitary temple or the Enchey Monastery, the marvellous collection of orchids in the Orchid Sanctuary and the picturesque Tashi Ling that provides an astounding view of the Kanchenjunga range. DAY 10: IN GANGTOK: In morning full day city tour.Enchey monastery is another place you must visit in Gangtok. The Enchey monastery literally means the solitary temple. At the time it was constructed, it was the only building in the entire area. This place especially attracts attention during the religious dances or 'Chaam' performed in January. Located above Siniolchu Lodge, about 3 km away from the town centre, the relatively small monastery was built 200 years ago and the present building was constructed in the year 1909. The site where the monastery is built is supposed to be blessed by Lama Druptob Karpo, a tantric master known for his flying powers. You can also get wonderful view of Kanchenjunga from here. Orchid Sanctuary the Orchid Sanctuary makes a must visit in Gangtok. The sanctuary is famous for its rare and extensive collection of orchids. The sanctuary's collection also varies depending on the seasons. However, the wide spread orchid sanctuary has almost 454 species of orchid found in Sikkim. DAY 11: GANGTOK/Rumtek

DAY 12: GANGTOK/ TSOMGO LAKE /GANGTOK ( DRIVE:40 Kms/0200Hrs.) : In morning drive to same day excursion to TSOMGO lake. It is literally known as "source of the lake " in Bhutia language. Just about 40 kms. away from Gangtok, the capital of the state, this serene lake is situated at an altitude of 12,000 ft on the Gangtok Nathu La highway. It falls in the restricted area and hence an inner line permit is required by Indians to visit this place. Foreign nationals are not permitted to visit this lake without special permission. The lake is about 1 km. Long, oval in shape, 15 meters deep and is considered sacred by the local people. It is also a home of brahminy ducks. It's cool, placid water harmonizes with the scenic beauty around. A small temple of lord Siva is constructed on the lakeside . This placid lake remains frozen during the winter months up to mid-May. The Tsomgo lake in Sikkim derives its water from the melting snow on the mountains around, The river Lungtze Chu originates from the Tsomgo lake Sikkim and meets the Rangpo-chu further down its course. During the olden times, lamas used to study the colour of the water of the lake and forecast about the future. If the waters of the Tsomgo lake had a dark tinge, it foreshadowed a year of trouble and unrest in the state. Tsomgo lake in Sikkim has a few rainbow trout and if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse at them. Over night at hotel
DAY 13: GANGTOK / BAGDOGRA(by car) & BAGDOGRA/ GUWAHATI(BY Air) & GUWAHATI/ KAZIRANGA (DRIVE:217KMS/04HES) : Transfer to Bagdogra airport to board flight for Guwahati.On arrival Guwahati drive to Kanziranga . On arrival check-in at hotel. Overnight at hotel
DAY 14: IN KANZIRANGA: In early morning visit National park for famous game Viewing. Enjoy Elephanta ride in park. Located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River in the far North East of India, Assam, Kaziranga National Park covers an area of approximately 430-sq-kms with its swamps and tall thickets of elephant grass making it the ideal habitat for the Indian One-Horned Rhino. Due to limitless poaching of this prehistoric survivor, the Kaziranga National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1940. Beside ofcourse the great one horned Indian Rhino, the other major wild attractions include a large population of Indian Elephants Indian Bison, Swamp Deer or Barasingha, Hog Deer, Sloth Bears, Tigers, Leopard Cats, Jungle Cats, Otters, Hog Badgers, Capped Langurs, Hoolock Gibbons, Wild Boar, Jackal, Wild Buffalo, Pythons, Monitor Lizards, etc.In late evening visit National park for famous game viewing.
DAY 15: KAZIRANGA/ GUWAHATI / DIRBUGARH(BY AIR) & DIRBUGARH / MIAO(DRIVE:160KMS) : Transfer to Guwahti airport to board flight for Dirbugarh. On arrival drive to Miao. On arrival check-in at hotel. Overnight at hotel
DAY 16: MIAO/NAMDAPHA/MIAO
The main attractions of this
national park are the tiger and leopard,
snow leopard and clouded leopard.
